Purple & Gold Goodness

26 Mar

I came across this purple and gold weddingy goodness about three months ago on the Southern Weddings website. After months and months of searching for wedding inspiration in our chosen colour scheme I had finally found something perfect! These pictures made me VERY giddy, the wedding shoot is stunning and pretty much exactly how we would like our wedding to be, only before seeing these photos I’d never been able to picture it in my mind. Only a couple of days ago did I pluck up the courage to email the lovely Britt at Chudleigh Weddings based all the way over the pond in Utah, USA, to ask if I’d be able to use her beautiful photos on my blog and she was delighted to let me use them – yeay! So here they are, gorgeous purple and gold wedding inspiration perfect for any romantic winter wedding.

The bride’s beautiful lace gown is by Atelier Aimee, an Italian bridal company (despite the french name) specialising in stunning and unique gowns. The flowers are by Studio Stems, also based in Utah. I absolutely LOVE this wedding shoot but I have to admit that the dress and the flowers are my two favourite aspects. With us choosing a darker shade of purple – not a bright “Cadbury’s” purple but not quite as dark as aubergine I have had so much trouble trying to find flowers suitable for our colour scheme. We did find some that we liked but typically they aren’t in season in November so our other option was to have ivory roses with organza matching our shade of purple. As nice as this would be I’ve always wanted to stay away from roses as our wedding flowers. I do love roses but we’ve always wanted something a little bit different. The flecks of gold glitter and the darkness of the purple berries and leaves are just perfection brought to life!

I’d like to send a HUGE thank you to Britt for her photos and if any of you brides to be are over in the USA please check out her work, it is truely beautiful.

I refuse to believe she’s a real bride. She looks like a doll. Just perfect. xx

It’s a photo shoot rather than a real wedding but even still, everything about it is just beautiful! x

    that explains it!

I was going to say the groom owns the purple bow tie, and that I could never convince my fiance to wear that. But now that I know the guy in the picture wore it for a paycheck, it makes a lot of sense lol

haha my fiance quite likes it, don’t think there’d be much of a struggle from him the big girl! 🙂
