Our Alternative to the Wedding Ring Cushion

13 May

Rather than following tradition to a tea Tom and I are trying to make our wedding as much about us as possible, if you can’t celebrate you on your wedding day when can you? Since we got together Tom has affectionately nick named me his little Russian Doll because of my dark hair, blue eyes, porcelain skin and being so pint sized (a tidgy 5ft 1) with curves.

Because of this we decided that we want to bring in a Russian Doll somewhere into our wedding as a nod towards Tom’s nickname for me. Then we found this…

A cute little hand painted porcelain trinket box. Just perfect for us to use as something for Tom’s best man to carry our rings in. So instead of handing over a cushion with our rings laid on it, Tom’s best man Luke will be handing over this sweet little token of ‘us.’ Many of our guests will not get the relevance of the doll as it is more a pet name rather than a well known nickname but this will make it all the better.

    Aww how cute!

I love the fact there’s a little story behind it too, weddings with personal touches like that are the best!
