Great Wedding Guest Dresses

18 May

While planning our own wedding this year Tom and I have a couple of friends weddings to attend, the first being at the end of May. Having been swept up in wedding dresses, bunting, flowers along with everything else nuptual related I forgot how important it is to find the right outfit as an attending guest to a wedding. I’m a fan of all things pretty but also believe in no way should a guest outshine the bride and bridemaids with their outfit. It is, however, always nice to don your best frock!

Having struggled this past few weeks to come up with something to wear for our friends wedding at the end of the month, along the way I have come up with some gorgeous get ups, suitable for every budget, that would be perfect to wear to any upcoming weddings this summer.

Beautiful 50s inspired Miami Print dress from Phase Eight – £88

Gorgeous kimono style and bright pattern for those who would like to brave a bit more colour from ASOS – £50

This cute little tea dress also from ASOS can be dressed up or down with the right accessories – £40

This stunning monochrome dress is another gem from Phase Eight – £104

This beautiful Topshop chiffon midi length dress comes in several summery colours, fitting for every style of wedding. Not only in red but also in lime, yellowblush, turquoise and purple but hurry, as at a bargain £46 they are selling out fast!

A limited edition cream 100% silk embellished number from Miss Selfridge – £195

An absolutely beautiful 1940s style dress that goes by the name of Babycakes. Recommened to me by the lovely Elle at Elle is For Love wedding stationary this dress is available in around 60 colours however it is made to order so if you have plenty of time to spare before your event this is definitely the dress to go for – £150

A sweet little Red Lace Babydoll dress from Dorothy Perkins which also comes in Ivory and Black – £42

A vintage inspired floral pencil dress by Get Cutie Co. This is another made to order dress so if the floral pattern isn’t for you then they have a variety of unique and wonderful fabrics to choose from – £110

So if you were stuck for something to wear to an upcoming summer wedding I hope this array of fabulous and funky frocks have fulfilled your kerfuffle!

I love the wedding attire you posted. The dresses are all so unique and colorful. It is nice to see that you don’t have to spend a fortune on wedding attire and you can still look just as nice as all of the other guests. I am curious as to where this boutique is located? Does it have an online website? I look forward to read more posts on your blog! Also, I love the layout of your blog design. Thanks for your great ideas 🙂 love the wedding attire you posted. […] During the last couple of years I have recommended Courtesan Boutique to many brides for their wedding dresses and bridesmaid’s dresses, as well as any one wanting to find something unique and utterly gorgeous for an evening do. I’ve always been an advocate for their company and continued to do so at the end of April this year, when Laura (aka Bonfirenightbride) put out a cry for help to find a frock which she could wear to all the weddings she had to attend this Summer. I immediately pointed her in the direction of Courtesan Boutique and my love for the beautiful Babycakes and, just as I had, she was smitten. So much so, she mentioned it (and me!) on her blog: https://bonfirenightbride.wordpress.com/2011/05/18/great-wedding-guest-dresses/ […]
